*Indonesia Will Establish SDGs Financing Hub*Minister of National Development Planning held a Meeting with UNDP Administrator Mr. Acim Steiner, Tuesday (13/07/2021). Things discussed at the meeting included support for the SDGs Financial Hub.UNDP has significant contribution on a wide range of development programs and policies in Indonesia. There are around 40 projects valued of more than USD 250 million focusing on inclusive human development, economic transformation, climate resilience, woman empowerment, gender equality, and most importantly the innovation for accelerating the SDGs. As it is known, Indonesia is one of the pioneer countries of the Integrated National Financial Framework (INFF). On that occasion the Minister said believe that INFF should bring a more systematic and holistic approach in financing, while at the same time exploring more innovative financing mechanisms. “This is important, as our President mandated to continue achieving the SDGs without reducing the targets,” said the Minister. To operationalize INFF, Indonesia plans to establish SDGs Financing Hub, as an effort to orchestrate financing to support SDGs achievement. Government of Indonesia have produced a comprehensive study on this, in collaboration with Price Waterhouse Cooper (PWC), and support from UNDP. In this case, the Government will initially share most of the investment needs for SDGs. However, this share will be gradually decreased to be filled by other financing sources. Indonesia have set a scenario in 2025-2030, that the government’s contribution to SDGs investment will be around 57.7% and non-government’s will be around 42.3% or USD1,383 million in high scenario. Therefore, it is critical to mobilize and synergize all types of finance (public, private, domestic, and international). It is hope that the SDGs Financing Hub would have functions as a platform of financing coordination, project match making, and pooling all sources including the innovative financing. Indonesia have worked together with UNDP to develop SDGs Investor Map and SDGs costing with ADB, as references particularly for impact investors to support SDGs implementation in Indonesia. In this regard, the Government will continue to play a key role in SDGs financing and strive to create a better business climate to help close the financing gap.“We expect UNDP’s continuous support of experts and international best practices to accelerate the implementation of INFF and operationalization of SDGs Financing Hub,” Minister Suharso said. The Minister do hope that by gaining more expertise and support from UNDP, in no more than two years, the SDGs Financing Hub could be fully operationalized.Wednesday, July, 14th 2021*Public Communications Team*Ministry of National Development Planning/BappenasHttps://linktr.ee/suharsomonoarfa Follow:Minister PPN’s Instagram: @suharsomonoarfaMinister PPN’s Twitter: @Suharso_MMinister PPN’s Fanpage: Suharso Monoarfa Hebdrik Pueter
